My name is Joe Buzzetta and I am an artist from Brooklyn, New York. I have been practicing art since I was very young and went through many artistic phases over the years, but eventually I realized that painting felt best to me.

It was intimidating to me to learn how to paint as a kid without training, but eventually I talked myself into taking my time, experimenting and allowing myself to fail. After failing plenty of times and ruining a lot of canvas, finally I created something I was proud of. It was a portrait of Boba Fett from Star Wars and, if I squinted the right way, I could see that it was him.

Part of the fun of painting for me is fine tuning my style and improving the flow of painting. My preferred method of mixing paint is to mix small batches and then to mix more as I need to. Doing this leads to some interesting color variations throughout my work. This might be common for artists, but I am always trying to figure out ways to become looser with my brush strokes.

One of the things I enjoy most about a finished painting is seeing the reaction that the person has when they receive it. I take pride in delivering work to someone knowing that it is at the same level of quality I would expect for a painting I would hang on my wall. It is exciting to me knowing that I will provide someone with a gift or personal heirloom that might be passed down from person to person.

I am currently accepting commissions! To find out more information, check out the Commission page.

This is a painting I completed for a winter themed competition. It’s very loose and was refreshing to paint.
